Developments From the October 12, 2017 Hearing:

Shockingly, the DA announced during this hearing that 22 years worth of evidence relating to Chief's case has been destroyed. Chief's lawyers are now dealing with this revelation.

Developments From the August 11, 2017 Hearing: 

​

Crucial evidence has been uncovered that was suppressed and manipulated the the Fresno DA's Office 40 years ago. Two juries were not told that the three shells presented as evidence against Mr. Stankewitz in fact were of a different caliber shell than the gun in the case. The DA's office knew they didn't match, but still presented them as if they did. 

​

This false evidence was crucial in the conviction against Chief. 

​

A review of basic physics established that that the shooter had to be around 5'2" whereas Mr. Stankewitz is 6'1". Mr. Stankewitz has maintained his innocence for 40 years. 

 

As hearings continue, more evidence of Stankewitz's innocence and the grievous misconduct by the DA's Office will be exposed.
